BURIAL: unknown - massacred by Indians,possibly in the Clinch River Valley,Hawkins County,Tennessee or southwest Virginia. Two children, names unknown, also scalped; son Jessee,age two was scalped but survived; two other children (Milly & Owen,Jr.)hid in a hollow log and were later taken to Kentucky by relatives. Older children were not at home (Benjamin, James, Wiatt). NOTE: Signed petition for State of Franklin - 1787 Sold land in Pittsylvania County,Virginia in 1777 |
