Father died when he was 11 or 12. Local guys bought him an old horse and wagon so he could collect trash to earn money.

Went out to Idaho, worked in gold mine, X-raying mine, got kicked off the job when they learned he wasn't 18.

Moved to CA; got married for the 1st time; had 4 kids; got divorced;

Met Bev, who was also divorced with 4 kids.
