Social Security Death Index Record 2017-11-06 email from Marilyn Strickland Allspach Doug, My dad did not have a middle name. His full name was Isaac Strickland Jr. Mama (his mother) told me many years ago that the doctor traveled several miles to deliver him. He discovered when he got back home that he had failed to get the babies name for the birth certificate so he just put down Isaac Strickland Jr. He didn't know the middle name. She wasn't very happy when the birth certificate came in the mail. She had planned to name him Anson Oneill. lol HIs nickname of Pat came when he was a child. There was a teacher at the country school named Pat (don't know the surname) that was bald. My dad was blond and they kept his hair cut off very short. In the summer it would bleach out in the sun so he looked almost bald. Everyone laughed and said he looked like a little 'Pat' and the nickname stuck... (Grandma Krueger and Grandpa Strickland were separated at the time. It is my understanding that Grandpa Strickland did not know about my dad till after he was born. - but that's a whole other story. lol) Thanks again for the family tree!! I love it and I am sure Craig will too! |
